A "Eating Marathon" Mother's Day

Day 5 - May 10th

Happy Mother's Day!  We had a fabulous Mother's Day even though we missed our kids! We began our day going to church with Les and Arlene and family. Laura played trombone in the orchestra at church.  The sermon was great and we enjoyed the service.

We left church and headed to Brady's Landing for a Mother's Day Buffet.  The location was beautiful, directly on the shipping channel, but very well landscaped with little ponds and fountains.

The amount and variety of food was absolutely amazing!

We really enjoyed spending this time with family.
We came home and everyone rested...until  it was time to eat again.  We went with Lou, Laura, and the kids to Busy Bee Cafe for sandwiches since we were still stuffed from the buffet.  The waiter was quite entertaining as he "fetched" his one and only pen to take our order.

As if we hadn't eaten enough, when ice cream was mentioned and we found out they had a Marble Slab Creamery.  Since our Marble Slab had closed, we decided we MUST go and have a memory!  So we did!

On the drive, Les showed us where the portion of the Keystone Pipeline is being worked on in Texas.

All in all, we went to sleep way too full, but truly blessed!
