After a short detour finding the Starbucks in Lake Charles, we headed off around 11:00 CDT for our day's short journey. We traveled from Lake Charles, LA to Pearland, TX...only 150 miles for this day.
State #5 - Texas
We continued our drive on I-10 and saw that everything in Texas is bigger and better! First of all, the speed limit on I-10 was 75 mph and not 70 mph like everywhere else on the same road. In addition, the bridges and overpasses are sky high and the chemical plants are massive.
It is very true. Texas is a "country all in itself!"
We arrived at Robin's cousin, Les' house in Pearland, TX. We haven't seen Les and Arlene for five years and are looking forward to spending a few days together catching up. Their daughter, Laura, and her husband, Lou, also live in Pearland with their two children - Katie (almost 10 years old) and Christopher (4 years old). We went to watch Christopher's swim lesson and then enjoyed dinner all together at Olive Garden. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Laura's family a little better.
Family time is the best!
